A class of individual–based models
Abstract
We discuss a class of mathematical modelsВ В of biological populations at microscopic level — i.e. atВ the level of interacting individuals of the population. TheВ class leads to partially integral Markov semigroups. We state the conditions guaranteeing the asymptoticВ stability. In particular under some assumption it may beВ shown that any, even non–factorized, initial probabilityВ density tends in the evolution to a factorized equilibriumВ probability density. We discuss possible applicationsВ of the general theory - redistribution of individuals,В thermal denaturation of DNA, and tendon healingВ process ...В
