In this note we construct a family of parametric Gompertz activation function (PGAF) based on hyperbolic tangent function. We prove upper and lower estimates for the Hausdorff approximation of the sign function by means of this family. Some comparisons between the hyperbolic tangent activation function and the new parametric Gompertz activation function are reported. Numerical examples, illustrating our results are given.
